Maybe My Baby

But maybe my baby
All the snowflakes that fall before daybreak
Are meant to take up the space of your damning heartache
Removing that numbing headache
Leaving you conscious enough to notice your tummy ache,
A need to fill your soul with your favorite cake
Of life.

But maybe my baby
Not all angels fly
And some may be here on Earth
So that when all seems to have returned to ashes and dirt
That we may remember a birth
That led to the rebirth of ourselves.

But maybe my baby
You and me
Could we
Just exist

Just maybe my baby we could be.
